2011 Meeting
Prize Money
Total prize money has been increased by 10% to £2,800. Knutsford Races offers the most prize money in the North West area.
Advertising
Amateur jockeys can carry advertising logos this season; horse sponsorship has been possible for the past two years. If you are interested in this type of sponsorship opportunity, contact the meeting secretary who will advise you on how to proceed.
In Memorium
It is with regret that we advise the death of David Peatfield during the summer. He was a great supporter and helper at Point to Point meetings, and most of the pictures on this website were taken by David.

Bumper Entries
There has been a 21% increase in entries over last year and with 8 races an exciting day is in store. Don't forget the Pony Racing at 1pm!
Pony Racing
The up and coming sport of Pony Racing for children under 16 years will be featured in 2010. Two pony races will be held, starting at 1pm.

Championship Race
The Dodson & Horrell sponsored Novice Riders National Final Race is again to be held at Tabley in 2010. Sam Twiston-Davies, last year's winner, is now riding winners against professional jockeys and Rhys Flint, the 2008 winner, is a professional jockey riding for leading trainer Alan King.
KNUTSFORD RACES ARE BACK!
Knutsford races are back!
Cheshire’s famous ‘Race Day’ is back and takes place at Tabley on Sunday 16th May 2010.
Organised by the North West Point to Point Club, this great Cheshire day out has every chance of restoring its illustrious place in the county’s sporting calendar. The event has been sponsored by Alderley Edge based property investment and development company, Bluemantle.
In 1819, the courier reported: “The races were very numerously and fashionably attended…from the respectable manner in which the meeting is supported it is expected to become the most fashionable in the kingdom.”
It was obviously the place to be and race goers included many of the country’s leading figures of the time including The Earl Stamford, The Earl of Wilton, Lord Grey, Sir John Leicester, Sit Thomas Stanley, Sir Harry Mainwaring – many of whom had horses entered in races.
One historic link to those times is the popular hostelry, The Kilton in Mere, which is named after the racehorse owned by Mr Thomas Langford-Brooke of Mere Hall. Kilton excelled at Knutsford Races and in 1796 won the prestigious Kntusford Gold Cup, beating Delamere owned by another well known Cheshire habitant, Mr Tatton. This same Gold Cup has recently been identified as the trophy given to Aintree’s John Smith’s Melling Chase.
Knutsford Races is a great day out for all the family with six races, traditional trade stands, children’s entertainment, licensed bar, bookmakers and much more. For the second year running, Knutsford Races is also proud to be supporting Alder Hey’s Children’s Hospital.
